We’re happy to announce that Austin Texas, one the U.S.’ most creative hubs, has joined Smart City Hack 2016, following on from cities such as Phoenix.
On June 3 – 5 the ATX Hack for Change will take place at St. Edward’s University and focus on finding civic solutions to issues such as environmental concerns, food sustainability and even domestic abuse. Teams made up of community organizers, nonprofit groups, educators, government employees, writers, graphic artists, project managers and techies will tackle the city’s biggest issues. ATX Hack for Change will also be joining the Smart City Hack, a global initiative supporting the public to go from generic urban problems to sustainable app-based solutions, to help continue incubation of the talent projects and prototypes the city is sure to deliver.
“Social innovation is rarely the work of a solitary individual. Instead, it happens when people exchange ideas and build off one another,” said Silicon Labs Chief Marketing Officer Michele Grieshaber. ‘We’re proud to join other members of the Austin tech community at this event.”
Following this, on June 10, an additional hack purely slotting into the SCH framework will also take place where one of our founders will connect with participants directly. Full information and links to come very soon…
